When cooling water, temperature, steam, and condensate fully rule out all copper materials, the supplied Copper Nickel 90-10 Tube is preferred. Our tube provides excellent protection against erosion and impingement in ocean water flowing at rates of more than 3-3.5 m/s due to the hardness and oxide type whereby the surface is auto-secured. Our Copper Nickel 90-10 Tube is very resistant to cracking and stress corrosion. Unfortunately, it is equally vulnerable to water-based assaults. As a result, consumers are not advised to use this tube in standing or slow-moving water.

C70600 /ASTM B466 Copper nickel offers excellent corrosion resistance, especially in marine salt water environments. The main, wrought copper-nickel alloys chosen for sea water service contain 10 or 30 percent nickel. They also have important additions of iron and manganese which are necessary to maintain good corrosion resistance.
